MPOD (Macular Pigment Optical Density)

If you have LOW MPOD levels, you may notice some of the following symptoms.......

–   Do you have problems night driving?
–   Do you have excessive glare from headlights?
–   Do things look washed out or foggy?
 –  Does it take longer than 20 seconds for your vision to return to normal after a bright light, like a camera flash?

– Do you get headaches under fluorescent lights or are you very light sensitive?
– Do you feel you need sunglasses inside?
– Do you have red eyes, headache, double vision, or eye fatigue after being on a computer, phone, or tablet?
– Do you think your vision seems “not quite as clear” when you were younger?

If you have any of these symptoms, it could mean that your MPOD scores are low......
1. Ask for an MPOD test at your next examination.
2. Inquire about specialty tints for your glasses like blue filters.
3. Look up “night shift” on Apple computers, “f.lux” for your older Windows computers, or "Night Light" display settings on Windows 10 computers.
